Jim and Jane Anybody: at school
.

From Monday to Friday Jim and Jane spend most of their time at school. They arrive at a quarter past eight and they leave school at a quarter past five... nine hours, all together!

The school opens at eight o’clock but students cannot enter their classrooms before eight fifty (ten minutes to nine), so from a quarter past eight to ten to nine Jim and Jane play with their schoolmates in the playground except when it rains or it is very cold.

At ten to nine students are in their classroom for register and at nine o’clock they start their daily classes.

Let’s have a look at Jim’s timetable on an ordinary day:

Jim and Jane at school: lunch Time

.

 .

Pupils at Jim and Jane’s school can either bring their own lunch or buy lunch at the school canteen.

At 12 o’clock all pupils go to the dining hall (canteen) and eat together, those who bring (traen) their lunch and those who buy it. During lunch there are always three or four teachers “keeping an eye” on pupils to ensure that they eat their meals. If a child does not eat his/her meal the school informs his/her parents.

Jim and Jane at school: after school clubs

.

.

The school offers a wide variety of After School Clubs from a quarter past three to six o’clock. Students can join one or more clubs and spend from one to one and a half hours doing that activity.

These are the Clubs that Jim and Jane’s school offers to the pupils. The clubs in red are the ones Jim attends and those in blue the ones Jane attends.

The school also offers Aftercare between 3.15 and 6.00 pm. Aftercare is like a club for those students who need some help because they are a bit slow or for those who are extremely good.
